I know this firsthand.

I spent most of my adult life in Human Resources. Yes, I used some of my God-given gifts, but my success was defined by my bosses, my peers, and the world. I collected every HR certification imaginable. I earned a master’s degree in organizational leadership so I could better serve other directors. Everything I did was to earn approval.

Eventually, I reached the highest HR position in the organization — the goal I had pursued since the beginning of my career.

And I felt empty.

That was my wake-up call. I realized I was living out a career, not my God-given calling. I had missed the mark on living out my purpose as God designed. A change was needed.
